Six Senses have now relaunched the idyllic wellness retreat VANA, located up in the foothills near Dehradun in the state of Uttarakhand. The property is protected by beautiful forest and surrounded by mango and lychee orchards, framed by the mighty foothills of the Himalayas.

Vana comprises of 66 rooms and 16 suites which are all comfortably appointed to evoke a sense of harmony with soothing muted tones throughout. Each of the rooms feature balconies or terraces and wall-to-ceiling windows, overlooking the tranquil Sal forests, manicured gardens, and mango orchards beyond.
Well renowned for its elegant cuisine focusing on local, seasonal wholesome ingredients, the nutritional information is present on all menus to help you make informed choices, however they are not prescriptive unless it is essential for you to achieve a particular retreat objective.
With a focus on Ayurvedic and Tibetan medicine the daily treatments are tailored to the guest’s wellness objectives which are planned intimately with a consultant at the beginning of your stay and monitored gently throughout.
All stays come inclusive of full board, accommodation, daily retreat activities, wellness consultation, use of facilities and the signature organic cotton kurta pyjamas, provided daily. The initial screening process has been created to measure 40 different bio-markers which are then followed up in the wellness consultation.
There is a further menu of retreat programs that help focus on a wealth of issues such as stress management, weight loss and sleep. It is recommended that guests stay for a minimum of 5 nights, with programs that can be tailored upto 21 nights, such as Panchakarma.

Tibet’s traditional system of medicine finds its roots in Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine, and Buddhism adapted to local herbal plants and their health benefits.
