We also had a terrific guide in Jodhpur. Everything worked seamlessly, and I honestly can’t remember ever having enjoyed a trip or finding so much to be inspired by.

Thank you very much. It really is difficult to choose one particular highlight, but I would say we thoroughly enjoyed the four nights in Sigiriya as there was such a variety to see, it was full of history, culture and wildlife altogether! And of course the food and hospitality at Kandalama Hotel was just exceptional.

Additionally, we also loved the stay at 98 Acres in Ella, the views were absolutely breathtaking and we had a huge wonderful suite with a balcony.

We also really enjoyed Galle and the local host tour was excellent – we even said we wished we had stayed two nights in Galle!

Of course the Maldives was also beautiful and very relaxing – the beaches looked like something off a postcard!

It was a wonderful trip – good, comfortable flights – and, best of all, a really terrific selection of hotels.
All the staff, the butlers, and most importantly, the choice of drivers were excellent. We saw some wonderful things and had plenty of relaxing time together.
The birthday events were truly fabulous, and I had a birthday cake at practically every hotel.
Of course, my favourite aspect will always be the really stylish hotels and rooms that you manage to find and book – but you know that.

I had a really terrific trip—lots of interesting areas and sites, and many discoveries, including jewellery, leather sandal, and wooden toy making.

There was some really wonderful scenery and terrific little villages, and I loved the countryside in that area, with its rocky hills and mountain forest drives. A lot of the dry, bushy landscape reminded me of Australia, which was nice too. Every day was hot and sunny.

There were some truly top-class hotels in the selection, just as your plan promised. In particular, Kahani and Ahilya were fantastic. Everywhere I went, the staff were extremely kind and efficient—helping me over rocky terrain or unlit steep steps, or cooking something less spicy. I also had some lovely alfresco dinners under the stars.

As for the drivers and guides, all were kind, careful, well informed, and good company, including Manas, who guided me on one of my previous trips. It was great to see him again.

Best of all—indeed totally brilliant—was you (and your secret team) for planning, arranging, booking, and monitoring the whole trip. I can never thank you enough.

It was a wonderful holiday. You put together quite an experience for us and we’re grateful. Lots of our friends have asked us who we ‘went with’ and we happily sing Greaves’ praises – and mention your name as the ideal contact.

We had an amazing experience!  Highlights were the Golden Temple and Border ceremony but everything was amazing.  All the arrangements and transfers went very smoothly.  Our driver was fantastic over what were very challenging roads.  The hotels were very good with excellent service.

Being provided with a mobile data device for the trip was incredible useful (we had an esim but the device provided proved far more useful to use across multiple devices without the need to reconfigure phones)

So glad we chose Greaves Travel for our recent visit to South India and the Andaman Islands. Mayank completely understood our brief and the pre-departure service was excellent. We liked their Vamoos app which does away with all the old-fashioned paperwork and is constantly refreshed with up to date flight information etc. They also gave us some very valuable advice in applying for the Indian e-visas!

During our four stops – Puducherry (Pondicherry), Chennai, Havelock on the Andaman Islands, Kolkata – the transfer arrangements went like clockwork and we couldn’t fault our guides and drivers. Our favourite hotels were the Maison Perumal in Puducherry and the Jalakara on Havelock Island.

We’ve just got back home following a really marvellous Greaves trip to Delhi/ Agra, the most impressive Gwalior, Orchha and Khajuraho, with an amazing two days in Varanasi!! We would like to say a very sincere thank you for the wonderful tour you meticulously organised for us – the chaos old Delhi, the magnificent Taj Mahal, spectacular forts and temples, tigers and leopards and a glorious sunset boat trip on the tranquil Ken river at the lovely Sarai at Toria (Joanna and Ragu were super hosts), and finally the Ganges and Varanasi – what an assault on the senses!

What a wonderful, colourful and cultural trip to incredible India and very many thanks again, where shall we go next?

Greaves organised a wonderful holiday for us to Southern India. They: – suggested a very good, varied itinerary – excellent hotels which were strong on atmosphere and character – a very safe and reassuring driver – ironed out minor problems on the way.

My 2 friends and I recently booked a “girls”holiday, to tour Southern India, staying in a number of locations. The Greaves contact in London was brilliant in working out a possible itinerary, tailor made to fit our requirements. Everything was worked out seamlessly; from the airport meet and greet, driver for the whole tour and room bookings. Our tour guides for each location were professional, knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. In all the locations, we were treated to fabulous hotels with fine cuisine. Our 14 day holiday has left us with wonderful memories, and we can’t wait to explore other regions of India in the very near future.

I asked Greaves to organise all my ground transfers and hotels on my recent visit to India. Everything went like clockwork from The Toy Train to Shimla to a personal tour of vibrant Mumbai. Greaves were brilliant in suggesting an itinerary for the time we had available and adapting it for our budget. Our itinerary formed an excellent basis for exploring Gujarat. 

Firstly our guide in Gujrat, Pravin, was quite exceptional not only knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects but also a charming travelling companion. Our driver was also excellent and careful. Likewise our guide in Mumbai could not have been better.

The hotels were ,with one exception, also very good and of a very interesting variety from the magnificent luxury of the Taj Palace to the more basic camp style bungalows . We also very much liked the different character of the other Heritage Hotels.

All in all a wonderful holiday and very interesting to go to a part of India less given to the tourist trade. Thank you very much. We will certainly come back to you if we are planning another trip to India and will also have no hesitation in recommending you to friends.

My wife and I organized a two week trip to India through Mayank at Greaves Travel during the fall of 2024 and are so glad we did. We stepped off the plane in Delhi to be met at the jetway by a VIP airport representative who whisked us through passport control and customs and turned us over to one of the Greaves Expediters, Harendra Rawat, who took us to the waiting driver and delivered us to the Oberoi New Delhi hotel where we were upgraded to a 1500 sf suite. That happened because of Greaves’ connections. That pattern continued throughout the trip, which involved travel by train, car and planes to Agra, Amanbagh, Jaipur and Jodpur. Our wedding anniversary occurred while we were in Jaipur, at the Rambagh Palace hotel, and Greaves arranged a special celebration for us by the hotel staff – a really nice touch. All the hotels were wonderful and everything planned came off like clockwork. Greaves gave us a portable wifi device so we were always connected and they kept us advised in real time through their Vamoos site so we knew in advance when drivers and guides were arriving and if any changes were made to our itinerary. Traveling in India can be a logistical challenge, to put it mildly, but impeccable logistics and planning are Greaves strong suit. They made it seem effortless. Cars, guides and drivers were uniformly excellent – especially Mr. Singh who drove us from Agra to Jaipur. Greaves made our trip to India an exceptional experience!

Our trip to India was curated with expert precision and attention to the smallest of detail. From the moment we arrived in Delhi, fast tracked through passport control, bags collected and then driven to our hotel we knew we were in for the trip of a lifetime, in the safest of hands.

Each hotel selected was of a high standard with the comfiest beds and restaurants so good it made it hard to leave to try dining anywhere else. The guides at each city were all so knowledgeable and delivered their exciting tours with a great sense of pride for the country, its wealth of historical happenings and cultural density. We had the most tremendous trip to India in December arranged by Greaves.  Everything was taken care of putting us on trains and planes and meeting us at our destination, smoothing the path forward for us – we did not have to worry about a thing except eating breakfast!  I can highly recommend Greaves for all travel to India we have fallen  under the spell of the country and will certainly be visiting again.  Special mention must go to all the knowledgeable guides for their information and to our driver Navtej – when you travel hundreds of miles with a driver you must all be of the same mindset – he was at all times well turned out, courteous, respectful, knowledgeable and best of all humorous, we were very sad to say goodbye to him at the end of the trip – he and the guides were a big part of the success of it for us.

We put together a three week family holiday to Delhi, Rajasthan, Mumbai and Goa in April 2019. We approached three travel agents, but it was quickly clear that Greaves Travel were head and shoulders above the rest, with enthusiastic, thoughtful advice on where to go and what to see, tailored to take into account that we would have children with us, the time of year we would be travelling and our budget. Once we arrived in India, their service was faultless, with representatives and guides meeting us at every step of the way, providing professional and friendly support. The Greaves experience wraps you in an unobtrusive comfort blanket, letting you get out and explore but remaining constantly in the background for help when needed.  Their relationships with the hotels we stayed in resulted in us being beautifully looked-after throughout our trip. The driver, Paul, was fabulous. We felt in very, very safe hands with him.  Our guide who collected us from the airport and took us back was also excellent. We weren’t sure why we needed the guide to get us back to the airport but understood why when he got us through security outside the airport very quickly indeed. The dongle they got for us was really useful.

Greaves Travel – you were excellent – there were no mistakes, everything went smoothly – and you planned us an incredible trip.  Your representatives in India phoned us on occasion to find out whether everything was ok. You gave us a holiday of a lifetime, it far exceeded my expectations.

We had a fascinating and wonderful trip thank you. The Greaves staff were extremely helpful and attentive wherever we went, and the guides expanded our knowledge massively.

The highlight really was our very safe driver and the excellent selection of guides that we had.  From a slightly urbane but highly knowledgeable guide in Pondicherry through to the lovely Ram Kumar who was with us for our last 3 days in Tamil Nadu – he really did manage to take us to some really special local things, from spectacular markets through to visiting a family of roadside clothes washers who were consigning an elder’s ashes to the river while we stopped.  Add to that jaggary making, scitar makers, and bronze and tile makers, and eating with the locals in Chettinad we really did see some extraordinary sights.  And all our collections and pick-ups went seamlessly, even when our flights were late arriving.

Thank you so much for your exemplary and seemingly effortless organisation, everything went perfectly, not one single hitch.  It’s a pity that getting to the Andamans takes really a whole day each way, but the place will be ruined when the International Airport is completed we fear.  Jalakara was a complete treat, fabulous relaxation time.

We have had the most marvellous adventures in India, I can’t praise Greaves Travel highly enough, every last detail was thought of, both of our guides were so knowledgeable and pleasant, they made us feel extremely safe and had so much information to hand. Our driver Ravi, was a delight and drove us safely in difficult Indian traffic! All of the other local representatives were helpful and friendly and were always there to meet us and see us safely onto the next part of the trip. One of the highlights was of course the Samode Haveli, an absolute delight so thank you for suggesting it.

We were lucky enough to see a tiger in Ranthambore and again the hotel and guides were excellent. All in all a magical and exciting trip, and you put together a great itinerary that included everything that we asked for. The holiday Greaves delivered for our family was exceptional in every way. Not just the locations, the hotels, the fantastically friendly drivers and guides, or the deep insight Greaves clearly has into India. It was the planning; the fact that each experience was a little bit more remarkable than the last. Every member of the family found something different to be amazed by. From wild elephants strolling down to watering holes to martial arts swordsmen leaping through hoops of fire. A holiday of constant highlights and surprises.

We had an amazing time. Everything went smoothly from being met at the airport helped swiftly through immigration etc to transfers and help at hotel registrations.
We had fantastic upgrades in most hotels.
Devendar, our driver from Mihirgarh till Jaipur, was fantastic. He was always ready and waiting when needed, courteous and knowledgeable making the long car journeys a pleasure. I was quite sad when we had to say goodbye at Jaipur airport. Unfortunately I cannot remember the drivers name in Mumbai but can only describe him as heroic as he battled to get us safely to the airport in the monsoon flood.
The  lady guide in Mumbai was exceptional and we even managed an interesting cultural walk
in the pouring monsoon rains and after that a quite challenging city drive. She told us that she doesn’t usually guide in the low season but because we were Greaves clients she made an exception. We therefore felt very guilty when as the tour finished it was decided it would be wise to drop her off at a railway station because of the floods and then heard the trains had stopped. We hoped she got home safely. We appreciated the efforts everybody went to make sure we were safe and still had an enjoyable time in the Mumbai monsoon floods.
We would definitely travel in the Monsoon season again.
In a couple of the hotels in India were the only guests  so obviously the service was amazing. We hardly saw any rain (except Mumbai!).

We have had a really wonderful time. We were endlessly impressed with your ground staff and drivers who were both safe (not easy on Rajasthan roads!) and good with information. The guides were always excellent, though some were easier to understand than others! We felt very well cared-for at all times.

We both decided that our enjoyment of hotels is inversely proportional to their size, so although the Taj hotels (in both Udiapur and Mumbai) were seriously opulent with wonderful rooms, we both much preferred the more intimate hotels. The clear winners from our point of view were the fort hotel at Nagaur, which is unbelievably wonderful, and Lakshman Sagar, which is truly special (but it did help that there was almost no one at the fort and absolutely no one else at the latter!).

I’m delighted to say that I have hooked my husband on India. We will certainly be going back, but I can’t promise that it will be in 2018 as there are so many other places on our bucket list. But when we do go, we will certainly be getting you to organise it for us.

Highlight had to be the second day on the rice boat, it was well worth having the two nights on the boat.

Our trip was superb, but sadly far too short. Our Greaves rep met us at the airport after waiting patiently for over two hours (we managed to stand in the wrong queue!) The guide in Kolkata was extremely knowledgeable and built the tours around our likes and dislikes and was surprised by our extensive knowledge. We were impressed with the drivers abilities and his backstreet map knowledge, we were often amused as he and the guide were unknowingly an amusing double act, many fun moments. Would highly recommend these guys. The hotel Oberoi lived up to its name, everyone and everything was outstanding. Kolkata was a blast, we saw so much, and much more than expected. We were charmed by how very friendly many people were, always ready for a joke, laugh and yes, yet another photo of me (one of hundreds!)

The transfer to Bhubaneswar was smooth and another fine hotel with great service and staff. The guide and driver were good and attentive, friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the tours and learnt much. We were so high on the buzz of Kolkata that we found Bhubaneswar very quiet (we are city people). Puri was very different from both Kolkata and Bhubaneswar. Having its own charms, it was fun to stay in an Indian seaside resort. Konark was incredible, vast and worth a re visit. The hotel had its own atmosphere, very relaxing.

We love India and will definitely be returning. Kolkata would be a place we return too especially after reading the book Calcutta, by Anita Desi, recommended by the Kolkata guide. We found the West Bengali charm and humour refreshing, we felt no hostility at all unlike some of the more tourist areas of North and West India.

All in all a very good, memorable trip leaving us hankering to return.

We have had a brilliant holiday. Everything was organized down to the last detail. The reps that met us were wonderful especially Antony who met us in Kochin. Very informative. Our driver that took us to Kochin, homestay then to the rice barge and then to the Marari resort was a fantastic driver we all felt very safe. The Homestay at Dewalokam was amazing, the food, guided tours and family were excellent. The rooms were 5 star, they thought of everything. Would highly recommend them. The beach resort was perfect, very quiet as the season is closing, staff, grounds, food all top notch. We had an upgrade to the palace suite in the Old Fort Hotel in Kochin, check us out. Also when we got to the Taj the rep asked for an upgrade there to the palace side not the tower. Very spoilt. The rice boat was fab and the food wonderful. The guides were knowledgeable and very obliging, brilliant. We could not fault one single thing. So a huge thank you Sheetal for all your organisation and a big thank you to everyone involved. Perfect holiday loved it.

We had a fantastic holiday thank you – Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and we had a really interesting, varied and relaxing time! Jay, our guide was extremely knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects, a very safe driver (essential!) and willing to adapt the schedule to our wishes. He arranged a trip to a cinnamon farm that we particularly wanted to see and took us to a supermarket!

Just wanted to let you know that we had a fabulous holiday, thanks so much for facilitating it for us. All the accommodation was first rate and we left all locations wishing we could have spent more time there. Special mention to our driver Rayul who drove us from Nagpur Airport to both game reserves and back to Nagpur. Driving in India is very difficult as you know and he did not take any risks or make us feel uncomfortable at all.

Also the staff at Shillim were all excellent and could not have made us more welcome.

We are already planning to return to India as we have been recommended a game reserve in Assam so something to look forward to in a couple of years so will be in touch!

Our holiday was perfect, we couldn’t have had a better itinerary. Greaves tour itinerary, meet and greet, guides and driver, are all outstanding . It was a great trip with all of your Greaves representatives being helpful, reliable and informative. All the guides in the different places were good. I called it our singing trip as each of them gave us a song or chant at different shrines temples or forts! We were especially grateful to Sunil our driver in Kerala. He did a lot of driving for us and took the time to stop at points of interest which he thought we might enjoy.

Thank you for organising another fabulous holiday. The Maldives is the ultimate beach/diving destination. It exceeded our expectations and is Paradise. Viva at by Taj came up to the usual excellent Taj standard – staff, service, food, water villas were superb. We loved the Open Grill and the head barman was very attentive. The all inclusive option was the right choice.The water villas were the best option for us. Swimming from our villas into the lagoon was very special, especially seeing the eagle rays.

Our three weeks in Rajasthan, which ended yesterday morning, were absolutely delightful and enchanting.We want to take this opportunity to thank you personally and all your colleagues whom we met on this voyage for the friendly, efficient and professional assistance through out. Whether in Delhi, Udaipur, Jaipur or Agra, we felt extremely well looked after and very secure and confident. Your very kind and knowledgeable representatives and guides went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and made sure that we got the best rooms in each hotel. Most pleasant and enjoyable, aside from the Imperial, was the overnight stay in the tent at Chhatra Sagar and most enjoyable and highly to be recommended is the Samode Haveli and its staff in the beautiful authentic setting.The literature festival in Jaipur is very much to be recommended and you should also take up in your program the ‘face to face with old Jaipur” walk organised by students, I believe. We were also very lucky to have had such a competent, reliable and truly likable driver named Vinod from Udaipur onwards until the very last day.He is an expert! Very much agreeably surprised and relieved were we when your representative in Mumbai greeted us at the national terminal, accompanied us to the international terminal and at the same time made sure that our luggage would be handled with priority. It did indeed arrive in Basel at the same time as we did. We didn’t expect this extra treatment in Mumbai because, after all, that part of the trip was organized through our travel agency in Basel. Hence another reason to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We hope to be back in north India next year as we have made reservations in Nagaur and Jodpur for the Sacred Music festival in February 2017. We will get in touch with you, if we may, for that occasion and hopefully we can have Vinod again as a driver!

We thought the whole Greaves experience was really good and obviously a lot of work had been done and was being done on a daily basis to ensure that everything went smoothly which it always did. Some of the drives were very long but the driver always drove effortlessly. The itinerary and accommodation choices felt as though you had met us! The cookery experience in Delhi with its Gupta was very special, also the bird watching experiences and village experiences were very different and will remain with is always. We loved India, the food is amazing and the people friendly, kind and very welcoming.

The trip went very well, your arrangements were excellent, all the meet and greets with your representatives were most professional and ran smoothly. The Maharajas Express was an excellent way to get around and the standard was very high. There were only twenty five of us on the train which holds about eighty guests so that was an added bonus.

The stay at both hotels were very good. India is certainly unlike anywhere I’ve been before and I’ve been many places! Perhaps one day I’ll return and go North. If I hear of anyone planning to go to India I will certainly recommend you.

With regard to Greaves we have nothing but high praise from beginning to end. As you know, David was very impressed with your own knowledge and efficiency from the very start of the planning process. This meant that even arriving in India 2 months after leaving the UK, we felt confident that all would be well.

The various guides were also very good being both knowledgeable on their area, but also willing to discuss much more about themselves and what it is to be Indian in 2014. For us this was probably the most enjoyable and valuable part of the trip and made us realise how advantageous it is to have access to your own personal source of information.

Finally, I have saved my highest praise for Jitender our driver. It was a concern that we might be stuck in a car for 3 weeks with someone that we could not connect with but Jitender was wonderful. A good and careful driver, he was always on time in his immaculately clean car. When we were with reps or guides he was quiet,but as soon as we were on our own he talked, practising his English, imparting knowledge and answering all the questions that occurred to us along the way. He looked after us when we were ill, he bought us a rose for Valentine’s day and won our admiration for his quiet determination to improve himself. If it makes any difference we would really like his employer to know what an asset he is.

Throughout the trip we felt able to relax knowing that we were in safe hands. We had help when we were ill and felt like a precious parcel being carefully passed from hand to hand along the way with each rep having been fully informed of our current situation.

We came to Greaves on the recommendation of my sister and we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you to anyone planning a trip to India.

What an amazing trip to India. It’s difficult to know what we enjoyed most, but we wouldn’t have enjoyed anything half as much without knowing that at every turn there was a Greaves employee waiting to make our life easier. The roll of honour is headed by Raj, who drove us safely, securely and cheerfully for ten days. At no stage were we worried or concerned for our safety on India’s very busy roads. All of the guides were excellent: Punam, in Delhi, Guru in Agra, Maneesh in Jaipur, Kamal in Udaipur and Jasmine in Mumbai. We had very little to do with your representatives (as nothing went wrong!), but Khush looked after us very well in Udaipur, where we made some changes to the itinerary and where he was most helpful in getting us smoothly onto the plane to Mumbai as was your representative in Mumbai.

The hotels were fantastic. Perhaps the only niggle was that we ended up paying for breakfast as we took it in our suite-part of the reason for having a suite. But we’ll know for next time. A fantastic recommendation from Victoria and , all in all, a wonderful two weeks. Please pass our thanks on to whoever else was responsible.

I am pleased to say that we had a superb holiday and would just like to say that we were extremely impressed with the overall service provided by Greaves from start to finish. Thank you for the holiday, I couldn’t have dreamed it better. Neeleshwar is perhaps the most soothing place I’ve ever been – and the houseboat was phenomenal. The backwaters were so beautiful and the staff on the boat were incredibly lovely. Actually, the staff were the highlight everywhere – each and every Greaves person was charming and helpful, and the hotel staff were so friendly and made us feel so comfortable. The only thing I would have changed about the whole trip was to cancel the work I’d gone to India to do, and to spend longer in Kerala! We’re both already desperate to go back. Thank you so much.

We are unusual travellers in that we had a specific itinerary in order to explore our separate family histories. All the guides embraced our quest with enthusiasm. The excellent service, provided by Greaves, took care of all the practical aspects and we enjoyed our trip very much.

I recently had the good fortune to spend a couple of days in her witty company during a Greaves Travel culinary tour of India for the Daily Mail. She’s an expert on regional Indian cuisine, eloquently fusing its history – both developmental and political – with cultural & religious significance into a fascinating whole. Her passion and knowledge takes some beating. It’s simple, I defy you to find a more erudite or personable companion for eating obscure street food or banqueting like Bollywood prince. Enjoy!

Your arrangements for our visit in October worked like clockwork and your choice of hotels spot on. A big thank you to all your Team. I was so impressed with the country that I am now planning a month’s visit in 2015 and will certainly be asking Greaves to handle my arrangements.

Our challenge to Greaves was to put together a budget conscious “off the beaten track” introduction to Rajasthan that would satisfy a small group of jaded travellers whose real life concept of ” out of the way” is to enter Peter Jones from the back door. All of Greaves’s itinerary suggestions provided the perfect level of comfort, adventure and seamless co-ordination. 5 Star India is bling on steroids and must be seen but it was the little tucked away heritage hotels, our early morning walks in the local villages ( mind the cow dung) and weaving through the potholes of an Indian highway that was our real introduction to another world. It was wonderful we could boast to the Mumbai elite we were going to places they had never heard of; score one for us at the dinner table.

As for service I am afraid Greaves has to take second place behind the cobbler of Raipur village who measured our feet at 11:00am and produced hand stitched goat hide moccasins for delivery to Lakshman Sagar in the Badlands of India (Maharajah’s former hunting lodge of course) at 6 the next morning for under a tenner.

I don’t think our holiday could have been bettered and I hope we will be able to repeat our trip with some of our grandchildren next year.

I felt I was in the arms of the most expert and smoothly conducted operation concerned solely with my enjoyment and experience of India. We really had a fantastic holiday thank you. We were keen to travel with Greaves again, having had a great time in Northern India 7 years ago. It was great to see that your standards are still just as high and the people you work with in India still just as outstanding as before. Firstly thanks for all your planning. It was a great holiday and we really enjoyed all the Tamil Nadu sites and people. The driver was brilliant…the best we have every had : good enough English, very relaxed and extremely knowledgeable and helpful all round.

Your ground staff were all excellent – our flight was rescheduled to leave Mumbai earlier than slated and your team got us ready and there in time and without any panic at all.

We really enjoyed the train journey : whetted our appetite and we will not shy away from this type of class accommodation for a long journey (though of course not overnight).

The new hotel in Pondicherry was superb: great room, extremely good staff, super pool, excellent location : quite faultless really. They were a little bit disorganised on the food side but that was understandable as they had only been open a month. We stayed there an extra night because we liked it so much.

My feedback is very positive. Everything went smoothly and we were very pleased with the service that Greaves provided. In particular: The service when booking and before we travelled was excellent.

The standards of the hotels you recommended was very high. We liked them all but the hotels in Varanasi and Bandhavgarh were outstanding.

The representatives were always helpful. I would mention in particular Girl in Delhi and Tony in Mumbai who got us a room upgrade. Perhaps the one exception was in Khajuraho where we were not met on our return from Bandhavgarh and the flight was delayed for some hours but we appreciate that the representative here was not from Greaves itself and it is only a small town. Otherwise, everything was done for us and at the airports at Delhi and Mumbai, Greaves had someone on hand to get us through all the formalities – small things like that make all the difference to a holiday.

A really fantastic trip in every way. We loved it all and it went so well. No hitches at all, everything first rate. You are a star at organising everything so well. – and up-graded to a Palace room in the Mumbai Taj Mahal. Well, another WOW! It was lovely and such a super surprise, thank you so much.

Once again the excellent arrangements for our India tour were of the best. Thank you for your attention to detail, and also for the unexpected and lovely upgrade at the Taj in Bombay.

We felt very spoilt and pampered at every stage of our journey through India. Everywhere was different and interesting in it’s own unique way, and all staff could not have done more to make sure we had wonderful memories to take home with us.

I know my friend is now just as ‘hooked’ on India as I am, and so I’m sure another trip will be on the agenda some time in the future.

Once again, my grateful thanks for making our ‘Passage to India’ so enjoyable.

Greaves surpassed themselves and it was an incredible, and memorable, visit – thank you so much.

First of all the trip was wonderful and perfectly well organised thanks to you and your excellent agents in India, in Delhi and on the field. Truly a superb organisation. Agra: of course praise for the magic view at the Oberoi. But bigger praise indeed for the manner in which the Archeological Department of India has “cleaned” and organised tourism at the Taj Mahal and at Fatehpur Sikri. When we visited both sites twenty years ago they were crowded, dirty and hectic. Now in spite of the thousands of visitors, it is clean, very well kept/restored and extremely well organised. The same can be said at Amber Fort in Jaipur.

A very special word must be said about our driver Abhy Singh who drove us all the way from Agra to Jodhpur airport on our last day. A great, safe, polite and experienced driver. A key element of success for our trip in view of the time we spend , happily, on the road.

All transfers upon arrival and departure in every city was perfectly organised and totally reliable.

Once again our warmest gratitude for having made this beautiful trip such a success.

Just wanted to drop you a note to thank you so much for organising what turned out to be the trip of a lifetime! Raymond and I had the most wonderful holiday. We adored India which was certainly helped by all the Greaves staff which made everything run so smoothly without a hitch the entire time. We felt like a Maharajah and Maharani – difficult to come down to earth. Another pleasant surprise was that we were upgraded in every hotel we stayed in. The hotels were outstanding and we were very glad to take your advice and stay in the Nimaj campsite, Samode and Devi Garh, very relaxing to rest in the countryside for a few days.

We also loved the Raas hotel in Jodhpur.

We will definitely return to India in the near future. Once again many thanks for all your advice and expert organisation.

Our tour of Rajasthan was absolutely magical and far exceeded our expectations. Although we have widely travelled throughout the world, this was our first time in India and we will definitely go back – perhaps next time to Kerala. All the Greaves representatives were excellent, particularly the gentleman who met us when we first arrived in Delhi. The guides were all very good and the one that stands out was again the one in Delhi on our initial sightseeing tour. All the hotels were absolutely outstanding but special mention must go to the Rambagh Palace and the Umaid Bhawan. It was such a privilege to stay in such magnificent palaces and we truly felt we were being treated as royalty!

When we got to Delhi on our last night we checked into the Trident – another beautiful hotel. At reception, we were treated to another astonishing surprise when they upgraded us to the presidential suite which we could happily live in full-time!

Overall this trip has left us with so many magical memories. Thank you so much once again for all your help. We will definitely come back to Greaves.

We have recently returned from a 4-week tour of Sri Lanka and southern India arranged by Greaves. We feel we have to write to say how fabulous the holiday was. Our tour of these two countries was quite complicated – our choice! Nevertheless, all your arrangements went just like clockwork. Throughout the entire tour we were treated like royalty (or should we say ‘like maharajas’!) by the local drivers/guides/representatives. Never once did we feel a little lost or insecure. After doing our homework, we approached 4 tour operators including yourselves, and must say that Varuna Gandhi was by far the most helpful and knowledgeable travel adviser of any of the companies we dealt with. She gave us some excellent advice when it came to tweaking the itinerary before the final result was arrived at. She frequently went “that extra mile” to make our tour the great success that it turned out to be.

AND on top of all this, Greaves quotation for the tour was highly competitive. So as far as we were concerned, the choice of tour operator was obvious. If we ever travel to the Sub-Continent again, and we do so hope to one day, we will without question use your services again. We have also heaped our praise about you to our family and friends, so we hope that this will put more business your way in the future. Very many thanks to Greaves, and in particular to Varuna, for arranging such a perfect, unforgettable tour.

We had a wonderful time in India last month. You were very helpful and efficient in all the planning and booking stages – thank you very much. We were also impressed by the efficiency of Greaves and their agents on the ground at different stages of the trip; we were always met, and moved on to the next place, on time, and given helpful advice.

The driver and guide in Hyderabad were both excellent. They were both very flexible in accommodating slight deviations from the fixed programme. The driver was very responsible and careful and courteous, with good English and interesting to talk to. The guide was quite exceptional; extremely knowledgeable about the history, art, culture etc and very good at putting across his knowledge. We learned an enormous amount from him and really enjoyed his company and his sense of humour.

I wanted to take the time to thank you for all the hard work you put in to arrange a magical honeymoon for Gayle and I. We had a ball. All the transfers worked like clockwork, the hotels were great and the route planning excellent. We will be back.
