  • Got back this morning after just about the best trip we've ever been on and don't know how to begin to thank you both for making it all possible.

    All the hotels were wonderful. Greaves, as ever, did us proud. Our driver, Rajesh, was a model of serenity and composure: a brilliant driver in extremely daunting conditions, a genius at navigation and delightful company.

    We also had a terrific guide in Jodhpur. Everything worked seamlessly, and I honestly can't remember ever having enjoyed a trip or finding so much to be inspired by.

  • Firstly thanks for all your planning. It was a great holiday and we really enjoyed all the Tamil Nadu sites and people.

    The driver was brilliant…the best we have every had : good enough English, very relaxed and extremely knowledgeable and helpful all round.

    Your ground staff were all excellent - our flight was rescheduled to leave Mumbai earlier than slated and your team got us ready and there in time and without any panic at all

    We really enjoyed the train journey : whetted our appetite and we will not shy away from this type of class accommodation for a long journey (though of course not overnight).

    The new hotel in Pondicherry was superb: great room, extremely good staff, super pool, excellent location : quite faultless really. They were a little bit disorganised on the food side but that was understandable as they had only been open a month. We stayed there an extra night because we liked it so much.

  • My feedback is very positive. Everything went smoothly and we were very pleased with the service that Greaves provided. In particular:

    The service when booking and before we travelled was excellent.

    The standards of the hotels you recommended was very high. We liked them all but the hotels in Varanasi and Bandhavgarh were outstanding.

    The representatives were always helpful. I would mention in particular Girl in Delhi and Tony in Mumbai who got us a room upgrade. Perhaps the one exception was in Khajuraho where we were not met on our return from Bandhavgarh and the flight was delayed for some hours but we appreciate that the representative here was not from Greaves itself and it is only a small town. Otherwise, everything was done for us and at the airports at Delhi and Mumbai, Greaves had someone on hand to get us through all the formalities - small things like that make all the difference to a holiday.

    So overall, it was great and we will certainly use Greaves again when we go back to India. And thanks to you personally for all your hard work.

  • Once again the excellent arrangements for our India tour were of the best.

    Thank you for your attention to detail, and also for the unexpected and lovely upgrade at the Taj in Bombay.

    We felt very spoilt and pampered at every stage of our journey through India. Everywhere was different and interesting in it's own unique way, and all staff could not have done more to make sure we had wonderful memories to take home with us.

    I know my friend is now just as 'hooked' on India as I am, and so I'm sure another trip will be on the agenda some time in the future.

    Once again, my grateful thanks for making our 'Passage to India' so enjoyable.

  • A really fantastic trip in every way.  We loved it all and it went so well. No hitches at all, everything first rate.  The only thing we added to the schedule was an elephant experience, walking, washing and being washed by it (her), near the Spite Lodge.  Our driver took us on request.  It was terrific fun.

    Hotels were all terrific as was everything else.  Staff, agents and guides were all excellent, what a high standard you maintain.

    You are a star at organising everything so well. - and up-graded to a Palace room in the Mumbai Taj Mahal.  Well, another WOW!  It was lovely and such a super surprise, thank you so much.

    Home and exhausted now - about 4am in our old time!!

  • First of all the trip was wonderful and perfectly well organised thanks to you and your excellent agents in India, in Delhi and on the field. Truly a superb organisation.

    Agra: of course praise for the magic view at the Oberoi. But bigger praise indeed for the manner in which the Archeological Department of India has "cleaned" and organised tourism at the Taj Mahal and at Fatehpur Sikri. When we visited both sites twenty years ago they were crowded, dirty and hectic. Now in spite of the thousands of visitors, it is clean, very well kept/restored and extremely well organised.  The same can be said at Amber Fort in Jaipur. 

    A very special word must be said about our driver Abhy Singh who drove us all the way from Agra to Jodhpur airport on our last day. A great, safe, polite and experienced driver. A key element of success for our trip in view of the time we spend , happily, on the road.

    All transfers upon arrival and departure in every city was perfectly organised and totally reliable.

    Once again our warmest gratitude for having made this beautiful trip such a success.

  • Our tour of Rajasthan was absolutely magical and far exceeded our expectations.

    Although we have widely travelled throughout the world, this was our first time in India and we will definitely go back - perhaps next time to Kerala. All the Greaves representatives were excellent, particularly the gentleman who met us when we first arrived in Delhi. The guides were all very good and the one that stands out was again the one in Delhi on our initial sightseeing tour. All the hotels were absolutely outstanding but special mention must go to the Rambagh Palace and the Umaid Bhawan. It was such a privilege to stay in such magnificent palaces and we truly felt we were being treated as royalty!

    When we got to Delhi on our last night we checked into the Trident - another beautiful hotel. At reception, we were treated to another astonishing surprise when they upgraded us to the presidential suite which we could happily live in full-time!

    Overall this trip has left us with so many magical memories. Thank you so much once again for all your help. We will definitely come back to Greaves.

  • Just wanted to drop you a note to thank you so much for organising what turned out to be the trip of a lifetime!

    Raymond and I had the most wonderful holiday. We adored India which was certainly helped by all the Greaves staff which made everything run so smoothly without a hitch the entire time. We felt like a Maharajah and Maharani - difficult to come down to earth. Another pleasant surprise was that we were upgraded in every hotel we stayed in. The hotels were outstanding and we were very glad to take your advice and stay in the Nimaj campsite, Samode and Devi Garh, very relaxing to rest in the countryside for a few days.

    We also loved the Rass hotel in Jodhpur.

    We will definitely return to India in the near future. Once again many thanks for all your advice and expert organisation.

  • We had a wonderful time in India last month. You were very helpful and efficient in all the planning and booking stages - thank you very much.

    We were also impressed by the efficiency of Greaves and their agents on the ground at different stages of the trip; we were always met, and moved on to the next place, on time, and given helpful advice.

    The driver and guide in Hyderabad were both excellent. They were both very flexible in accommodating slight deviations from the fixed programme. The driver was very responsible and careful and courteous, with good English and interesting to talk to. The guide was quite exceptional; extremely knowledgeable about the history, art, culture etc and very good at putting across his knowledge. We learned an enormous amount from him and really enjoyed his company and his sense of humour.

  • We have recently returned from a 4-week tour of Sri Lanka and southern India arranged by Greaves. We feel we have to write to say how fabulous the holiday was. Our tour of these two countries was quite complicated - our choice! Nevertheless, all your arrangements went just like clockwork. Throughout the entire tour we were treated like royalty (or should we say 'like maharajas'!) by the local drivers/guides/representatives. Never once did we feel a little lost or insecure.

    After doing our homework, we approached 4 tour operators including yourselves, and must say that Varuna Gandhi was by far the most helpful and knowledgeable travel adviser of any of the companies we dealt with. She gave us some excellent advice when it came to tweaking the itinerary before the final result was arrived at. She frequently went "that extra mile" to make our tour the great success that it turned out to be.

    AND on top of all this, Greaves quotation for the tour was highly competitive. So as far as we were concerned, the choice of tour operator was obvious. If we ever travel to the Sub-Continent again, and we do so hope to one day, we will without question use your services again. We have also heaped our praise about you to our family and friends, so we hope that this will put more business your way in the future. Very many thanks to Greaves, and in particular to Varuna, for arranging such a perfect, unforgettable tour.

  • Just a short note to thank you for all your help and expert advice in planning our trip to India. We had a fantastic time and everything worked perfectly. The hotels were all wonderful and although the little Padmini Haveli in Chittorgarh was a total contrast to the 5-star luxury of the Taj palaces, it was nice to experience the 'real' India - incredibly friendly, excellent food, and in a unique location within the old fort. Chittorgarh was a good place to break the journey from Jaipur to Udaipur and well worth the detour.
